Life In The Ghetto

by Diamond200054988@aol.com

Life in the Ghetto for me was hard.

Mother had to go out day and night just to find a good job.

Mommy and Daddy fussing every night hoping that one day we will get out of

this terrible life.

Daddy left momma with 5 kids we didn't have no money at all. all we had was a

loaf of bread.

We know that the bread will be gone in the morning so no need of letting our

loaf of bread spoiling.

The rats and mice would come in and out because of that big old hole the

landlord wouldn't fix.

We all had to sleep in a one room bed cause momma didn't have no money to keep

us warm in the winter.

We didn't have no iron so we put our clothes under the mattress hoping that

one day we would go to school with our clothes all nice and pressed.

For Christmas all we had was old used toys that we find in county that the

rich boys and girls used.

They be all broken up and dirty but we didn't mind long as we had something to

play with that will occupy our time.

Life in the Ghetto for me was kind of bad.

But look at it now it was only the past.

The Rules

by Alexis [ Alexus9946@aol.com ]

The rules have exceptions

my life is at your discretion

power's not in my possession

your guilty but will never make a confession

Following me when I walk

listening to me when I talk

watching me like a hawk

Hell, is this South Africa or New York?

You watch the trends I set carefully

So tomorrow you can do it... but not half as good as me

Anger fills your heart

my success is salt in your wounds

you hate the bronze in my skin

but will bake like a pie in Jamaica or Cancun

The bitterness in my voice expresses nothing but the truth

you disrespect our elders and murder our youth

If I don't like what's going on then I need to make the change

because when the rules benefit you they will always stay the same

Moma: The Original Essence of Beauty

by KKnowling

To view the gracefulness of your smile, I am overtaken with your charms

To embrace the tenderness of your hands, its motions caress my soul

To notice the softness of your voice, it soothes my heart

To kiss the silky texture of your cheek, it softens my speech

The wisdom of your words have never gone unheard

The thought of your surrounding love, envelops my aura

To realize the strength of your will, awards confidence in my being

To witness the shine in your eyes, so to envision the essence of all that is

The Truest Original Essence of Beauty
